Magnolia Hotel Yangshuo ()

The Magnolia hotel is a one of the newer hotels in Yangshuo. It is located in the middle of the town, just a fe minutes walk to West Street. The owner, Malcolm, who runs the China Cafe, a few blocks away, has build a very sophisticated hotel at Diancui Road. The hotel has 30 great rooms.

When I say sophisticated, I mean sophisticated. The Magnolia hotel is build around a courtyard. The whole feel is more of being in a more traditional Chinese traditional house then any other hotel I know in Yangshuo. Malcolm has tried to build a very different kind of hotel compared to other hotels in Yangshuo and he succeeded very well.

With 30 rooms, all spacey with big windows the Magnolia has plenty to offer to any kind of traveler. There are 21 standard rooms, 6 deluxe rooms and 3 family rooms. The deluxe rooms have a kingsize bed with living room and private bath. Some of the deluxe rooms have a balcony to the main street.

The family rooms have a deluxe room plus a standard room (king size bed and 2 single beds. The family room is in principle for 4 people though it is possible to add an extra bed in the living room for Y50 per night (during the golden week Y80). Baby's under 2 years old do not pay extra.

The standard rooms have 2 single beds and bathroom. And of course, all rooms have air conditioning, as you can expect from am excellent hotel like the Magnolia.

At the first floor in the hotel there's the popular Pure Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant which is more than worth to check out.

When I stayed in the Magnolia hotel I enjoyed the quality of the deluxe room and I can say, it's worth the money.
