There are plenty of hotels in Yangshuo, in fact there are too many to
mention. However, as we know Yangshuo for many years, we can recommend our
favorite hotels. This page offers the best (at least we think they are the
best) hotels and resorts in price - quality.
All hotels we recommend in Yangshuo have an English speaking staff,
a good service and clean rooms. You may find cheaper accommodation
when you do search a bit more, but for sure you will not find nicer
accommodation then the following hotels.
The Snow Lion Resort is very new hotel just outside Yangshuo. William and
Linda run this great hotel which located near the
Liu Sanjie show. They have worked very hard over the years to fulfill a dream, to
own one of the real classy hotels in Yangshuo! And, I have to admit, they have succeeded.
Few places in Yangshuo offer a better and more spectacular view over the limestone mountains.
With their dream coming true, William and Linda offer such a lovely hotel.
The Snow Lion Resort, as located 2.5 km outside the Yangshuo town center, has a good
restaurant with Chinese and Western food available. And in case you want to organize a
barbeque, these facilities are also available.
The Snow Lion Resort has wireless internet facilities so you can bring your
laptop computer and work in the spectacular scenery.
Comparing price and quality, this hotel is an excellent option.
The Magnolia Hotel is a reasonable new hotel in Yangshuo. As Yangshuo has
many hotels you may ask yourself why staying right here? If you need a room with
style and class and you want to stay in the city center, there's no other
option.
I stayed in the deluxe double room which is so spacious you could ride a
bicycle around although I didn't do that myself, despite having the bike
available! If you want to stay in Yangshuo town, there's no better hotel
then the Magnolia.
The hotel is conveniently located within 3 minutes walking from
West Street and the Li River boulevard.
There is a very good vegetarian restaurant: Pure Lotus Vegetarian
Restaurant which is worth to try out.
The Yangshuo Hidden Dragon Villa is one of the newer hotels. The
hotel is build in Qing and Ming architectural style and within you will
plenty of antiques. Here you can breath the atmosphere of the days of the
Middle Kingdom more then in any other hotel in Yangshuo.
The lobby alone is made to impress. The rooms are no different. With 8 river
and 6 village view rooms, you can't go bad with this hotel. And sure, luxury has
it's price. However... I would say it's worth the money and if you are ready for
a splurge, this is a good moment.
The new Green Lotus Hotel (5 star) is one of the few but rising 5
Star hotels in Yangshuo. It's a huge building at the foot of the legendary
Green Lotus Peak. If you have the money to burn, the Green Lotus Hotel
offers good value for your money:
There are fine views from the rooms with river views. You are looking at
the docking area for the Guilin cruises. About 1o minutes further you will
find East Street and the Liu San Jie Water Show while at the other side of
the mountain the busy hustle bustle of Yangshuo town can be found.
The Green Lotus Hotel is indeed right in the middle of all activities.
The Yangshuo Mountain Retreat is one of the older hotels in
Yangshuo. Located several kilometers out of the town center, this was the
first hotel to build at the Yulong river at one of the most spectacular
places in the whole Yangshuo area.
Although nowadays there are several hotels along the Yulong River, the
Mountain Retreat is hard to beat and with the road totally upgraded in the
last years mini buses bring you comfortable to the Yangshuo town center. The
Yangshuo Mountain Retreat is a winner, a really good choice at one of the
best possible place in the Yangshuo area of the Yulong river.
The Yulong river provides Yangshuo with some of the most spectacular
sights in the region. Therefore alone the Dragon River Retreat is worth a
stay. The hotel is brand new. With excellent views over the surrounding
limestone mountains and a sneak view into Moonhill
(!), the Dragon River Retreat is certainly one of the finest hotels in and
around Yangshuo.

The hotel is located 8km from Yangshuo but that should not turn you off
as transport to and from Yangshuo can always be arranged. For local
exploration there are bicycles for rent and you can easily board one of the
many rafts passing by at the Yulong River.
Yangshuo has plenty of cheap hotels, hostels and guesthouses. My favorite
over the years has always been the 7th Heaven Cafe & Hostel. Originally
located at West Street, but now the cafe has moved to a more quiet area 2
minutes away from West Street.
The 7th Heaven has only a few rooms and they're often full so make sure
you book in advance. The food is since long of very descent quality,
especially the western food is much better then many of the other places
where I have been eating.
The River View Hotel is one of the older hotels in Yangshuo town center.
It is located right at the Li River boulevard near the Sun Yat sen statue.
The hotel is slightly more up-market but with what the hotel offers, it's
more then worth the price.
The rooms on the front have all views over the Lijiang River and in front
of the hotel you will find on a daily base a tourist market with all kinds
of typical tourist stuff for sale.
The famous West Street is just around the corner.
The price for all rooms is Y250 (Golden Week Y450), breakfast not
included.
Already convinced you want to stay in the Dragon River Retreat?
Conveniently located opposite of the local bus station is the Yangshuo
New West Street Hotel. It's hard to find a more central
location then the Yangshuo New West Street Hotel.
Travelers find this hotel convenient and comfortable. I have to admit, I
never stayed in this one but I have seen the rooms and they are nice,
spacious and with all comfort you can expect.
The rooms are certainly a good value for your money.
Long
regarded as number one hotel in Yangshuo, the Yangshuo Paradise
is still one of the more up market hotels. It's conveniently located
right in the heart of Yangshuo at the beginning of Yangshuo's famous West Street
The Paradise is over the years one of the most constant hotels in price and
quality. It is also much used for honeymooners and wedding receptions.
The Yangshuo Tangrenjie Hotel Guilin is located is located in the newer
part of Yangshuo, north of the market and the Tourist Information. It is a
modern and new hotel within a few minutes walk from Yangshuo's West Street.
The hotel has all the modern facilities and, of course, air-conditioning
available.
The Yangshuo Tangrenjie Hotel Guilin has also special facilities for
disabled people which makes the hotel especially interesting.
The New Century Hotel Guilin is located at Pan Tao Road within walking
distance of the bus station and West Street. With 270 rooms, this is one of
the big and also atmospheric hotels in Yangshuo. Modern facilities and
conference rooms are available for group activities.
The Ai Yuan Hotel is located at the foot of Bilian Mountain, just a a
minute from West Street. Location and service are both top notch. One
traveler says: "Good hotel in a very central location. Rooms comfortable,
clean and large. Nothing flashy but they do the job. Located on West Street
- the main street, but it's about 20 second walk from the top of the very
busy section.
Finding accommodation in China is seldom difficult and can be
dirt cheap. At the border of Guizhou and Guangxi I arrived in
Huanjiang and found one of the cheapest and nicest hotels ever.
