Budget Hotels (up to about US $12)

Han Tang Inn

The Han Tang Inn is one of the best low budget places to stay in Xian. For around US $12 you get a comfortable room. The hotel is much praised for it's friendliness and service.

One traveler says: "Best hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff were amazing - even accompanying us to a restaurant to translate the menu! Brilliant organized tours which were very good value for money. The best bit about the hostel was the evening activities organized by the hostel including live music, cooking dumplings, and tasting party - all free! I would definitely recommend this hostel."

ShuYuan International Youth Hostel

The ShuYuan International Youth Hostel has dorms for just over US $3 and private rooms for  US $9. The hostel is converted from a typical Chinese old house in Qing Style, which gives you excellent atmosphere of Chinese history and culture.

ShuYuan International Youth Hostel  is located within the Xian city walls. Tours to the Terracotta Warriors are organized and the staff gets praises for their helpfulness.  And it's a good place to meet other travelers.

Ancient Street International Youth Hostel

The Ancient Street International Youth Hostel is the last of the budget hostels we recommend. Located close to the south gate, you get a quiet neighborhood and still be able to be in the city center within minutes. It's right in the centre of the artist quarter with plenty of delicious, cheap street food nearby.

Mid Range Hotels

Bell And Drum Tower Hotel Xian

The Bell And Drum Tower Hotel Xian is located in the heart of Xian city center, opposite to the Bell Tower and the Bell & Drum Tower Square. It will be hard to find a more central hotel then this hotel.

The hotel has 130 guest rooms existing 7 floors including standard rooms superior rooms deluxe rooms and so on. all guests rooms in the hotel are installed with modern facilities such as dial-up internet in controlled music air conditioner satellite TV set idd ddd writing table and chair well decorated bathroom.

For a location like this, Bell And Drum Tower Hotel the room rate compared to the hotel quality is more then excellent.

Diamond International Hotel Xian

The Diamond International Hotel Xian is also convenient located, close to the railway station and the local buses to the Terracotta Warriors. The staff of the hotel, as I remember very well, was very friendly and helpful, some spoke enough English.

All of the guest rooms are comfortable and nicely equipped to give a feeling of being home while away from home. The hotel restaurants provide a rich selection of international menu as well as local cuisine in a relaxing atmosphere. Cheaper food is available in the near surrounding.

Considering the experience I had at the time, I would certainly go back.

Garden Hotel Xian

The Garden Hotel Xian borders on Tang Paradise in the east, on Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the west. Its construction style was melt in the Chinese traditional landscaping. There are beautiful courtyard, lake and peacock in hotel. That all sounds great and it is great except that the hotel is located about 5 km from the city center. Considering the size of the city, that is not really a problem, a taxi brings you for a few RMB to the city center.

Neil from the UK wrote: "A very spacious and well laid out hotel with fantastic decor. My daughter and I both left it was a bit posh for us after doing backpacking hotels. Food in the restaurants were fantastic, especially the night they put on the buffet! Friendly and helpful staff, in a great location not too far from the main city walls and great facilities. Recommended!".

Empress hotel

The Empress hotel get a thumbs up too. With a great location the city center, this hotel is a great option. The hotel has 253 comfortable rooms, suites and other guest rooms. Room are equipped with the latest facilities, these air conditioned rooms provide you with internet access, circuit and satellite television system, safe deposit box, mini bar etc..

If you are hungry, come to the Chinese and Western combined enclosed compartment at Empress Hotel Xian in Xian that serves you special dishes like green healthy dish, royal palace goods and woman healthy dish (don't ask...).

Orient Hotel Xi’an

The Orient Hotel Xi’an is located in the Nanjiao Wenhua District Xi’an city. Nearby attractions include Great Goose Pagoda, Little Goose Pagoda, Daxingshan Temple etc. The hotel has various guest rooms, such as standard, business, deluxe and presidential suite suit all your demands. The Chinese & Western Restaurant and different kinds of Banquet Hall serve the deli foods at any time.

The Orient gets good reviews: Gail Caroline says: "The staff were extremely helpful, it was a pleasure to deal with them, I have not a word of complaint and would recommend the hotel"

Dynasty Hotel Xian

Formerly known as The Qindu Hotel, the Dynasty Hotel in Xian is a 4 Star hotel conforming to international Standards. The hotel shows a traditional Chinese style of architecture. The Location of Dynasty Hotel in Xian is in Yuxiang Square along the West Xian Great Wall close to the West Gate. The bustling downtown of the city and the Xian Train Station lie at a distance of 10 minutes from the hotel.

The hotel has 200 guestrooms featuring Standard, Deluxe & Commercial rooms. One traveler wrote: "The Dynasty hotel was the best hotel that we stayed in during our visit to china. It was located very near to the Xi'an city wall making it ideal for visitors. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel facilities were very clean, nicely furnished and decorated. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Xi'an. "

The Wan Nian Hotel in Xian combines a luxurious stay with all the modern state-of-the-art amenities.
