Phuket is one of the major south east Asian travel destinations. On this page I give you some good budget hotels in Phuket. If you are searching for upmarket hotels, you can use our searchbox at the end of the page, but my primary goal here is to serve the cheapies.

The easiest way by bicycle to go to Phuket is simply cycle from the north in. You have to use the junction at Thap Put and from there follow the road to Phuket. Alternative you can catch a ferry in Krabi, which takes your bike for a small fee too.

The selection of hotels and guesthouses is quite random as there are so many, so let's start:

Andamans House Hotel

The Andamans House Hotel is located close to several attractions and with great connections to the famous nearby beaches in a tranquil atmosphere. Standard rooms offer both single or double accommodation and all rooms are equipped with modern amenities including satellite TV, IDD telephone and mini bar.

Laundry and dry cleaning services are available, and the hotel airport transfer service makes arrivals or departures hassle free. The staff are very friendly and speak a good standard of English, all of which are sure to leave a great impression on even the most demanding guests.

Thavorn Grand Plaza Hotel

If you like to stay in the middle of Phuket, the Thavorn Grand Plaza Hotel is a good choice with shopping store, the Robinson's, street bazaars, hawker stalls, and local market all within walking distance from the hotel. There are a few restaurants and stalls along that road, mostly serve Thai Muslim food.

With so much competition it might be difficult to choose a hotel but this one in the center of Phuket is a recommendation worth.

Sea Breeze Inn Hotel

The Sea Breeze Inn Hotel is located in the hearth of Karon, but still in a quite setting only 3 min walk from Karon Beach. It's a small hotel with 13 spacious, air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms and satelite-tv. It seems particularly popular for Swedish travelers. It's a very moderate priced hotel, from $15 and on depending on the season. Good choice!

Phuttasa Residence Phuket

Should you want to stay around Patong beach, you might choose the Phuttasa Residence Phuket. The hotel has 20 air-conditioned rooms decorated in modern Thai style. There's plenty of food variety here available and the beach is 100 meter away. It's not a spectacular place but it's clean and comfortable and there's an amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Don't expect a 5 star hotel but it's a good deal for the price.

The Bird Cage Patong Guesthouse

Similar priced as the previous hotel the Bird Cage Patong Guesthouse is a bit better deal. It's a new boutique 32 rooms hotel located in the heart of Patong. Some travelers are pleasantly surprised to find a modern, clean, lovely hotel-like guesthouse in the Bird Cage Patong. The staff were very friendly and the guesthouse is located close to the beach and some great restaurants.

@ Home Guesthouse

The @ Home Guesthouse is a no-frills accommodation which meets all the basic needs to today's traveler. The hotel is nice, with clean and newly renovated rooms and located next to Seeka boutique resort. Bonus is that it is located in a quiet area of Patong.

Casa Jip Guesthouse

Casa Jip Guesthouse is also located in Patong. It is a family-owned guesthouse with a personalized service. There are 20 deluxe rooms and 10 budget rooms. All rooms are very spacious and worth the money (US $17 and up). It's just 5 minutes walk from the Jungceylon Shopping Mall, lively bars and the entertainment zone of Bangla Road, while sandy Patong beach is 10 minutes walk away.

Tony And Eak Guest House

Tony And Eak Guest House is recently developed Tony and Eak Guesthouse, just 1 minute from Kata Beach. With a central location to nice restaurants and many bars, the guesthouse is a safe and convenient option for the popular beach strip. This small and cozy guesthouse has 14 very spacious rooms, all with attached bathrooms.

Boost Guesthouse Phuket

The Boost Guesthouse is an atmospheric place with clean and comfortable accommodation at a bargain (from US $16 and on). Arrangements for long term stay in nearby chalets is possible.
