There are several good
hotels in Penang in areas like Bayan Lepas, Jerejak, Teluk Bahang and
Bukit Jambul . It may be convenient to stay near the airport,
with a good golf course nearby. Worth a visit in this area is the famous Snake
Temple. Or near Teluk Bahang on the far other side.
The Equatorial Hotel Penang is very convenient located. Close to
the airport and with the Bukit Jambul Golf & Country Club on your doorstep
the Equatorial Hotel Penang is an excellent choice. The hotel is
located near the hills with great views over the tropical forest and as the
hotel is located 150 meter above sea level, you will see the Straits in
between Penang and the Malaysian mainland.
Facilities of the Equatorial Hotel Penang are fully equipped
fitness center and weights room and an outdoor swimming pool with waterfalls
and Jacuzzi. There are squash and tennis courts, sauna and spa
facilities.
The Equatorial Hotel Penang has a 5 star restaurant
specialized in French, Japanese and Chinese cuisine. Cheap? No! Excellent?
Yes!

Bayan Lepas but it's so nearby I mention it here. Located on Jerejak island,

airport, it's about 10km on the highway from the airport. Follow the signs
to the ferry.
The Vistana Residences Hotel Penang is located in Bukit Jambul.
It's a moderate priced hotel with additional attractions as a swimming pool,
gymnasium and therapeutic massage treatments. Although the hotel is very
moderate priced, its location may be a little inconvenient for international
travelers. The airport is about 15 minutes away but George Town and the
beaches of Batu
Ferringhi and
Teluk Bahang are a long
way. That said, it IS a very nice hotel.
