The best hotels in Mandalay are not necessarily the most expensive. I
stayed at the time in the View Inn and that was an excellent experience. For
a real thread you should try either the Read Canal Hotel of the Hill Resort
Mandalay. Check it out!

The is probably the best and most unique of all hotels in Mandalay.
The Sedona Hotel Mandalay is another excellent example of a
stylish hotel in Mandalay.
The hotel is situated at the south-west edge of the Mandalay fort, facing
Mandalay hill. The rooms are spacious (though the cheaper rooms are a bit
smaller then the more expensive rooms).
With a pool and fitness center, this is one of the better hotels in
Mandalay.
The Hill Resort Mandalay is the top end hotel in Mandalay. It is
an International Five Star Hotel located at the foot of Mandalay Hill
overlooking the Royal Palace and Moat, and Mandalay City. The hotel is set
in 12 acres of gardens surrounding by the quiet solitude of Buddhist
Monasteries, indeed an oasis of peace and tranquility.
The hotel has superior rooms, standard rooms with Royal Palace & Moat and
Mandalay city views and deluxe room with Mandalay Hill Views. Amongst its
facilities are a spa, steam bath, swimming pool and tennis court.
Recommended for those who need a splurge.
The View Inn Mandalay gets thumbs up for an excellent price/
quality balance. The hotel is situated at very quiet compound beside the
Mandalay Canal. It is also next to the Garden Villa Theatre Marionettes and
culture-show. It is situated in the heart of the city.
MJ, Tustin, Cal, USA says: "It was a nice and pleasant experience, when I
stepped into Hotel Mandalay View inn on my last visit to Myanmar. I got a
warm and affectionate welcome as soon as I reach at their gate. The staffs
are really gentle, caring and attentive, starting from attendants to manager
levels. Whenever I have to check to out they are eager to ask any assistance
needed.
The charges for the rooms are also quite reasonable, comparable to
other hotels of the same standard and locality. I must specially appreciate
the owner of the hotel Mr. A.K. for his all round helping and humbleness. I
was really impressed with the manner in which he personally supervise in
running the hotel.
The whole hotel staffs including the manager treated the passengers as
their home visiting personal guests. The rooms are also spacious and fixed
with amenities and fixtures which fulfills our needs.
More over the hotel is located in such a location that not only the
surroundings are worth seeing and enjoying but also it is near to the down
town. On conclusion I must say it is worth enough to stay in this hotel
where so many good things come together to make your money spent worth."
The Treasure Hotel Mandalay is another moderate priced hotel. It
is modern hotel with the usual facilities you can expect from a hotel in
this price range. The hotel has 94 rooms and 6 apartments on 2 floors. All
rooms are fully air-conditioned, complete with Satellite TV, telephone,
minibar, hot & cold showers and bathtubs.
Although it is a good value for the price it would not be my first
choice. That would still be either the View Inn or the Red Canal Hotel.
On the flatlands near the mighty Irrawaddy river once stood thousands and
thousands of temples. Many are destroyed in time but there's still more then
enough to satisfy a few days visit.
