surprising. As a major tourist destination it attracts travelers from all
around the world with requirements in all possible price classes. The Kuta

Just north of Kuta beach, you will find the Oberoi Hotel Bali.
It's one of the many top end hotels at Bali at a great beach. There are 74
thatched Lanais and Villas. The rooms come as Royal Ocean View Villa with
private pool, Luxury Ocean View Villa with private pool and Luxury Garden
View Villa with private pool. The Luxury Garden View Villa with Private Pool
has its own terrace from where you can enjoy great views.
The rooms don't come cheap with US $300 but you will have your little
paradise holiday with all the luxuries as restaurant, spa, fitness, recreation
and business rooms. If luxury is what you are looking for, this is the resort
you want.
The Samsara Hotel Bali is a more moderate priced resort. Just
minutes away from Kuta beach and the shopping areas, this hotel is a good
choice. It's a reasonable new hotel with spa and outdoor pool. Although at
Kuta there are plenty of alternatives, the hotel has it's own bar and
restaurant.
For a 3 star hotel (around US $50 a night) you are threatened like a 5 star
guest. One traveler says: "Beautiful, clean hotel, good location, very very nice
and helpful personal working. Hera you did a good job !!"
The Jayakarta Hotel Bali is another moderate priced hotel in the
Kuta area. The hotel offers resort-style activities and services including
three separate swimming pools and a children’s pool, a fitness center, spa,
tennis court, organized activities and sporting events, seven restaurants or
bars for guests to sample, business and convention rooms and services as
well as a full service travel desk.
It is an older and highly respected hotel in this area. And it's a big hotel
with 278 rooms and 166 apartment/residences. Room starts at around US $65 and on
and according to one traveler: "We've now stayed at the Hotel Jayakarta twice
and would definitely come back again. The locations is great and the staff are
pretty wonderful. Definite value for money and overall a nice place to stay. "
The
Balisani Padma Hotel is located at Legian Beach, a convenient area,
just north of Kuta and close to the Denpasar city.
The hotel is built in traditional Balinese style. The room are
build with natural woods, beautifully decorated with crafted bamboo and local
artifacts and textiles. It is set in tropical landscaped garden with a
private pool.
There are 60 unique rooms: 40 standard room, 16 cottages, and 4 Superior Rooms.
If price is a limitation, then this is an excellent choice (around US $30 and
on). Travelers reports: "What a little gem of a hotel to find. Just one street
away from the beach, several small shops and restaurants also just out the
lobby. The hotel was excellent and for the price you can not complain. The staff
are extremely friendly, the rooms and tastefully decorated (massive bed) and the
pool is open from 7am to midnight (heated). My room was located away from the
road and a little back from the pool so heard no noise when sleeping. The daily
breakfast is tasty, many options available. The hotel is managed well. No
complaints at all, would definitely recommend to all and stay there again."
Quality
does not always come with a high price. The Hotel Sayang Maha Mertha
is such an example. It is a basic hotel, for economy travelers and cyclists.
One traveler says: "The hotel was
fantastic with great facilities like a swimming pool, table, bar, restaurant and
internet access! The staff are great too! The only bad thing is that the basic
rooms have no sinks or hot water but the hotel in itself more than makes up
for
that!"
It's
certainly not necessary to spend a lot of money on a hotel in Kuta. The Bali Prani Hotel Kuta
is an example of a basic, small but good hotel. The hotel is located in a
small village of Kuta.
There are 16 standard rooms, 4 deluxe rooms and three cottage rooms. All
room have air conditioning and TV and internet access.
In the Room Facilities at Bali Prani Hotel in Bali the guests are provided
with private kitchen. Some basic kitchen appliances like refrigerator,
microwave, mini bar and tea and coffee makers are provided to the guests in the
kitchen. The cottage style rooms have separate entrance for the kitchen which
opens in the balcony. It's a good deal for around US $27.
The Simpang Inn is another economy hotel in Kuta with rooms from
US $22 and on. The private pool makes your stay here extra enjoyable. The
hotel has 60 guestrooms, each of which has spacious and well-decorated
interiors for a comfortable vacation. The hotel offer both air-conditioned
and fan cooled rooms to suit travelers on varying budgets. Room facilities
at the hotel include air-conditioning/ fan-cooled, satellite TV, telephone,
in-room safe, bath accessories, and attached bathroom. It's a good deal for
the price.

Ayu Hotel Bali is another economy hotel in Kuta. This family friendly
hotel has 32 rooms as well as a garden and a terrace. For around US $25-50
you will have a comfortable room with access to a swimming pool. Further
there is on site two level restaurant and bars.
One traveler writes: "My partners and I stay at the hotel was great. The
rooms were clean and tidy and had ample space. The staff were very friendly and
approachable. The location was a little outside but quiet. I would stay there
again and many thanks to the staff for there help and professional approach to
there jobs."
Bicycling at Bali is quite an experience. Yes, the areas of Kuta and Ubud
are touristy, but outside those areas it's like a time machine. Going back
in time, where tourism didn't exist and life went on as always
