Hotels at Port Blair - Andaman islands

There is a variety of hotels at Andaman Islands. We have separated the hotels at Port Blair and Havelock Island as many travelers prefer to stay at Havelock over Port Blar. This page gives you some of the better hotels at Port Blair.

Hotel Sinclairs Bay View Port Blair Hotel Sinclairs Bay View Port Blair

The Hotel Sinclairs Bay View Port Blair is one of the top hotels at Port Blair. Located at the beach the hotel has two hotel blocks, of course the better rooms have better sea views. If you intend to stay at Port Blair more then a night, this is a very good choice, especially as the hotel has a beautiful and well maintained garden, away from the town center and the city noise.

The hotel has two restaurants available although in Port Blar itself you will find cheaper places to eat but the hotel is a good place if you like to stay close to the city center.

Fortune Resort Bay Island Port Blair Fortune Resort Bay Island Port Blair

The Fortune Resort Bay Island Port Blair is located at South Point, 3 km from the airport and 7 km from the city center on the east coast.

Transport is easy available to visit the city and other sights as the Cellular Jail.

There is a restaurant and bar available. However, if you travel on tight budget, this is not the place with rooms for around $100 a night.

Mainak Hotel Port Blair

Mainak Hotel Port Blair is located in a peaceful area surrounded by greenery on all sides on the hills and with a sea view from the hotel. It's a small hotel with 22 rooms with onside restaurant. It's a good deal for the price.

Andaman Residency Port Blair Andaman Residency Port Blair

The Andaman Residency is a surprisingly nice hotel in Port Blair city center. Rooms are basic and clean with a nice and helpful staff who can arrange tours to the different islands.

Although I met several people not happy with the hotel, I found it nice and comfortable enough for a long term traveler. However, if you expect a 5 star hotel, try Sinclairs or the Fortune Resort. I found the price/quality better then most of the hotels in this price range.

There's an onside restaurant serving decent food but I preferred to eat in one of the countless restaurants in Port Blair.

Peerless Sarovar Portico Resort Port Blair

The Peerless Sarovar Portico Resort Port Blair is the last to mention in our Port Blair hotels section. It is a 3 star hotel and although it is reasonable good priced, especially for a 3 star hotel, it is 8km away from Port Blar city center.

There are 50 rooms and cottages with an onside restaurant and service to and from the airport. Rooms go from Rs 3500 and on. If you don't mind to stay this far from Port Blair city center, it's a good deal.

Other hotels and guesthouses

In Port Blair town there are many cheap (and not so clean) guesthouses. When you arrive by ship or airplane it is most likely some of the guesthouse owners are waiting for you at the airport/dock. Before you give your "yes" to one of them, check some out and compare the quality they offer. Prices are all competitive. There's too many to recommend one specific in the dirt cheap section.

Neil Island

Even more then Havelock, Neil Island is a real getaway. There's not a lot to do at the island except eating, drinking, hike around and enjoy the beach. But I spend a week here and was refreshed.
