There are some excellent guesthouses and hotels in Langkawi. Our Hotels at Langkawi and the Cenang Beach pages offers midrange and high end hotels in Langkawi. Here we offer a selection of the low end budget hotels we recommend.

Zackry Guest House

Zackry Guesthouse LangkawiThe family run Zackry Guest House is a great value for the price. It offers basic accommodation in a friendly environment with nearby shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, and of course the beach!

Zackry Guest House has the following rooms:

  • Wooden bungalow with air-conditioning, double private en-suite: Queen Size bed with bathroom attached (en-suite), air-conditioner and warm shower.
  • Double Deluxe room with air condition Queen Size bed (en-suite warm shower) with sofa and mini refrigerator suitable for family with 2 kids by adding extra bed.
  • Double private en-suite: Queen Size bed with bathroom attached (en-suite with warm shower) and air-conditioner
  • Triple private en-suite: Queen Size bed with single bed or three single beds with bathroom attached (en-suite with warm shower) and air-conditioner
  • Rooms with a common bathroom (warm shower):
    - Single fan and shared bathroom
    - Twin fan and shared bathroom
    - Double fan and shared bathroom

The kitchen ha  coffee/tea making facilities, toaster, stove with cooking utensils and shared refrigerator (best to write your name on what you put in here). There is free refill drinking water facility - cold and hot water (Guests are required to bring their own bottles to reduce waste of plastic bottles).

All in all, this is a very well run friendly guesthouse and highly recommended (I have stayed here in 2007)

Eagle Bay Hotel

Eagle Bay HotelThe Eagle Bay Hotel is a 3-star hotel with 128 Deluxe rooms and Suites which are overlooking 3 beautiful parks and with sea view of luxurious yachts. Room rates start from US$ 12/ person!

The hotel is located in the vicinity of Kuah and the ferry to the mainland, Thailand and Penang which is a good option if you arrive either late or leave early morning.

Facilities of the hotel include outdoor spa, swimming pool, children’s playground & jogging track (in front of the hotel), souvenir corner, conference and meeting rooms, free car park, travel information, internet connection, luggage storage, safe deposit boxes and travel desk.

The Meranti Restaurant has Malay, Oriental and Western cuisine from 7am-11pm. The restaurant also caters for in-house conference and banquet as well as catering for out-of-hotel functions, such as Teppanyaki Steamboat, Sunset Seafood Beach BBQ in the park, birthday bash, serving buffet lunches, dinners, tea breaks as well as cocktails. Opens daily from 7.00am till 11.00pm. But as Kuah is nearby you can have a good meal in one of the many food courts in town.

Kedawang Beach Inn

Kedawang Inn LangkawiThe Kedawang Beach Inn is located at Cenang Beach, close to the beach itself. The Langkawi Underwater complex is also nearby, around 300 meter.

The Kedawang Inn doesn't have many rooms but it's a very good option. There are a total of 10 rooms only with 5 Deluxe King/Twin Bed, 3 Superior Queen Bed and 2 Standard Queen Bed.

There is a common kitchen to cook your own (halal only) food.

As one customer said: "Good location, clean, safe, cheap and friendly staff."

Rumah Cantik

Rumah Cantik LangkawiRumah Cantik is a 2 bedroom house and located on Pantai Tengah with the beach minutes away. The house can accommodate 4 people comfortably. There is a spare mattress available.

Facilities include a hot shower, air-conditioning in the main bedroom, cooking facilities in an fully equipped kitchen and a TV. Bedding and towels are included in the price. There is a rear garden with views over the hills.

The house also has its own kitchen which is fitted with a cooker, kettle, toaster, fridge and cooking utensils. The Bathroom is designed in a western style with a wash hand basin.

Should you come with a couple of friends, this might be a good option.

Melati Tanjung Motel

Melati Tanjung LangkawiThe Melati Tanjung Motel is located in the heart of Cenang Beach at the beach itself although they have their cheaper rooms on the other side of the street.

Shops, restaurants are nearby and the hotel has its own cybercafe and mini mart. All rooms have air conditioning, TV and mini fridge. Further there are private doubles, 3 person and family rooms.

The Melati Tanjung Hotel is basic but clean with a friendly staff. One traveler said: "Its right on the beach, lovely view. Clean rooms and also close to shops" It's a decent choice.
