This website is still in a state of progress. Why? There's a few reasons for that. The first one is that I have so much material collected over the last decade, it's hard to sort it all out.
Another reason is that I am still traveling, though not as intensive as
before. The third reason are my 3 Sitesell websites which takes more time of
me then I sometimes want. Nowadays I live in Sitiawan Malaysia. It's a little town about 180km south of Penang. I fill my days with working on my both websites using a system called Sitesell. And believe me, without Sitesell I would never have been able to write a website like this one (or my Pangkor
or Yangshuo websites). It would simply have taken me too much time in learning html, using a html editor and other technical stuff. Sitesell does the job in that sense for me. I just love SBI, in case you need more prove I am not the only one: So I focus on what I like best, writing and informing you about what I did and still love to do. Sounds an ideal situation huh? Trust me, it is
ideal. Besides, when I am on the road, with internet connections now
everywhere and SBI webbased, I can work ANYWHERE. Some of the stories I
write then can be directly used in the website, others come in one my
additional blogs. You see, I travel and be a webmaster too. How I do it? I have learned to work with Sitesell in a way that has created the freedom I always wanted. Sitesell is a "freedom builder". That is to say, if you follow the ideas of Mr. Ken Evoy, founder and president of Sitesell. Never heard of him? Look at the video below.
Sitesell delivers. There's no doubt. But how did it start?
From My SBI Journey to YOUR SBI journey! In 2004 I was at the point I wanted to have a base, a house where I could live when I was not traveling. This house should not be a house in Holland. After all, Holland was too far from where I wanted to be. I needed also some money to live on. And I didn't want to go back to the life I had before I was traveling. More or less by accident I found Sitesell when I trying to sort out how people make money on the net. I bought Corey Rudl's course and although it was well spend money, it was "just" a manual. Then I found Sitesell. I first downloaded the free ebook Affiliate Masters, which is still available and it still FREE. Anyway, I read the book. Then I bought Make Your Site Sell 2002. This e-book changed my life. I read the whole book in two days and then I read it again. I started to work on the principles of this book which had cost me $29.90. Lucky you, I can offer you this very same book for FREE. No tricks, no jokes, just free, you don't even have to subscribe to a newsletter! Grab it and learn what I learned.
Working on a few ideas it became clear if I wanted to build a website with the ideas of Ken Evoy, I had a very long way to go. That was the moment I decided to take my credit card and buy the Sitsell package. Sure, I was sweating when I bought it, after all, $299 is not nothing. But it turned out so well spend. In the first few weeks I spend countless hours reading another free e-book that came with the course (600 pages!!!) The idea for my first website www.pulau-pangkor.com was born. Pangkor is a little tropical island very near where I now live. It became soon clear the subject of this little island had potential so I started to use the Brainstormer (actually at the time, it was an offline manager and no way as powerful as the Brainstormer in SBI now is) and found out Pangkor was a good subject. Soon I started thinking about a second site. But I was lazy. I traveled a bit here and there. As cycling was (and is) my passion, I decided to start a second website. After all, it's passion that drives me anyway. Then the www.bicycle-adventures.com came at last. Little by little it started growing. I started scanning my slides, realized I had lost also quite a few photos (for example, my photos of the Great Wall and Beijing in China had been stolen). But I had my diaries so I started working.
And I started my third SBI website:
www.yangshuo-travel-guide.com
which is already a success! Nowadays I am still working on my websites, creating more and more content. Life has been good to me, some say. I would say, Ken Evoy and his Sitesell have given me the tools to create this. Without them, I would have been back in Holland doing all kinds of "stupid" work and longing for being back on the road. I am able with Sitesell to do what I love most: traveling and writing about it. Life is good, what else does a man need? Talk about !
