Batu Ferringhi is by far the most popular beach of Penang. Although over the
years the typical beach holiday lovers may have found a new paradise at
Langkawi, and the some of the main attractions of Penang are located in
Georgetown, Batu Ferringhi is again a more relaxed beach then, say, 10-15
years ago. Once again, Batu Ferringhi has it... and with "it" the hotels
come. With its nightmarkets at night and the beach at day time, Batu
Ferringhi is an excellent choice for your holiday at Penang.
On this page you will find some of the best located and best priced
hotels.
The Hard Rock Hotel has recently (August 24 2009) opened its doors.
Worldwide the Hard Rock Hotels are a success story. Who would not want to
stay in one of the 249 rooms in the hotel with views all over the Andaman Sea.
The Hard Rock Hotel is located at the western end of Batu Ferringhi with bus
(including to the airport) and taxi facilities nearby.
There is of course the traditional Hard Rock Cafe including souvenirs from
rock stars. The restaurant is also a good choice.
The Lone Pine is the oldest of all hotels in Penang. It is located right
at the beach and breathes the old colonial days atmosphere. It is here you
move away from the busy city, markets and other activities. If there is one
place at Batu Ferringhi you will love, it is the Lone Pine Hotel.
The Lone Pine is this year closed due to renovations.
Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort Penang
If you have never been to Shangri-La, this is your chance. The Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort Penang
is one of the top end hotels in Penang and not for nothing. It is here where
you find deluxe luxury, yes, deluxe luxury.
The resort is also home to CHI - The Spa at Shangri-La. CHI is a
cluster of rustic villas complete with treatment villas and a yoga pavilion.
CHI offers age-old healing philosophies from the Himalayas with relaxing
treatments based on holistic practices that restore balance and harmony to
the mind and body.
Other facilities include meeting and banquet venues - a fitness center -
golf - two outdoor swimming pools - six restaurants and bars.
How about the rooms? Well, as you can expect, they are top notch with a
spacious living room, dressing area, large marble bathroom, separate
bath-shower and soaking bathtub on balcony. Like I said... this deluxe
luxury.
The Holiday Inn is, of course one of the most famous and finest in
Penang.
The hotel is completely renovated in the last few years and extended with
all kinds of facilities including Exercise Gym, Laundry Service, Outdoor
Pool, Parking, RV or Truck Parking, 24 Hour Room Service, Shops/Commercial
Services, Tennis.
With the complete renovation the rooms are amongst the best in Penang at
the moment. They are large with large windows for sunlight and the sea view
rooms all have wonderful views of the Straits of Malacca. Sea view rooms
offer either distant views of sweeping vistas of the ocean. The large rooms
are finished with local timber flooring and exotic rattan furniture. Highly
recommended!
Another amazing hotel is the Grand Plaza Parkroyal Hotel Penang.
The resort and spa exudes a contemporary design comfort. It provides every
opportunity for guests to unwind in its tropical landscaped garden as well
as truly relaxing environment. The resort is suitable for couples, singles

All rooms are tastefully furnished and fitted with modern in-room

and tea making facilities, mineral water, bedroom slippers and personal
grooming items are provided, plus the convenience of hairdryer, iron and
ironing board are available in all rooms. So yes, this is an amazing
hotel.
The Bayview Beach Hotel offers exactly what the name suggests, a
hotel with rooms over the Bay in the Straits of Malacca.
The Bayview is located a minute walk from Upper Penang Road, close to the
monthly Little Penang Cultural Market (in fact the market is just behind the
hotel).
The huge building might not be so attractive but inside it's all top notch,
one of the better 4 star hotels.
Located right in the heart of Batu Ferringhi, the Golden Sands Resort
Penang is another excellent choice for your holiday in Penang. The hotel
has the usual facilities but what makes this hotel different from others is
nearly perfect service, hospitality and beautiful gardens.
And, of course the beach is in front of the hotel. You can organize your
own beach activities, with help from the hotel. And if you are in need of
baby sitting, the Golden Sands Resort Penang has a baby sitting
facility.
The restaurant offers an excellent cuisine of Western and Malaysian food.
The Golden Sands Resort Penang is highly recommended.
The 33-storey Sri Sayang Resort Service Apartments towers in Batu
Ferringhi offers from one bedroom apartment to three bedroom apartments.
It's an excellent choice for a group or friends or for the whole family
without wanting the need of an attached room like any other hotels.

Shangri-La but it is nonetheless a great hotel with 294 guestrooms and 30
suits. With 3 restaurants, 2 bars and several other facilities as massage,
gym and a pool this is an excellent option in Batu Ferringhi.
Other facilities include: whirlpool, lounge, dry cleaning service,
rollaway Bed, Game room, business center and children Stay Free - 6 Years
and Under.
D'Feringghi Restaurant & Hotel Penang is one of the cheaper options
in Batu Ferringhi. The best recommendation comes from a visitor:
My family and I were up in Penang during Christmas 2007 and chanced upon this
newly opened Hotel. It's a pretty small budget hotel but has been tastefully
put together. In my opinion, the 2 strongest aspects of this hotel were:- 1)
pricing : rm130-200 per night which is a bargain for a hotel within
Ferringhi area; and 2) location : along the main road of Ferringhi, opposite of night
market and local food court, 3mins walk to the beach. The owner of the hotel
himself greeted us and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay. For a joint of
that pricing. We will go there again this year's Christmas.
The Casuarina Beach Resort Penang has 180 luxuriously-spacious
guestrooms with panoramic views of the beach and bay. There is a
restaurants, a coffee shop, bar and lounge and a range of banqueting
facilities. The hotel is located at the far end of Batu Ferringhi, a short
walk from the night market.
You can go direct from the hotel into activities like jet skiing, wind
surfing, parasailing, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. But you can also
simply stay at the beach and relax.
Bayan Lepas is convenient if you arrive or depart from Penang
International Airport. However, it's a long way to the beaches of Teluk
Bahang and Batu Ferringhi and the Georgetown city center is also 15 km
away. On the other hand, Teluk Bahang is a long way from the airport but has
much to offer. Check out the hotels of your
choice on this page
